Online Learning, a division of the School District of Volusia County (“District”), will abide by the student privacy guidelines set forth by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), school board policy and other applicable law. Access to student records is specifically set forth in school board policy 201.
Online Learning and/or its contracted provider will submit a final grade to the student's primary school of record upon completion of the online course(s) and/or student's legal guardian through student report card and district’s Student Information System.
In accordance with state and federal privacy laws, students who attain the age of 18 may transfer certain rights related to their academic records.
Names, images, and/or course work of students will not be published in print, video/film, or on our website without written student and guardian consent.
All students will access online courses through the student Vportal located on the District website. It is the student's responsibility to keep his/her password in confidence. Depending on the student’s course schedule, he/she may have additional login credentials for other contracted provider sites.
Security Information: All the data you provide to the District is protected to ensure both the privacy and security of your data. The District uses state-of-the art technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible to ensure that no one will be able to tamper with, intercept or access your data. Remember to keep your account information private and secure; do not share your password with anyone!
Nothing herein shall be interpreted to create a cause for action against the District, including its employees, officials, contractors, or agents.
